01. About
Who I am
Senior Android Developer based in Vienna with over 10 years building apps used by millions — from the world's largest cycling platform to public transport for an entire city. I hold a Computer Science degree and have shipped everything from large-scale consumer apps to security-critical systems and personal side projects, all with a crash-free rate above 99.5%. I thrive in every phase: architecting from scratch, diving into a complex legacy codebase, and collaborating closely with design, backend, and product teams. Where clients allow it, I work with an AI agent: it plans from the ticket and the Figma designs, implements, tests and opens the pull request, while I review every step and design new architecture myself. If you're building something ambitious on Android, let's talk.

WienMobil (Ticket Shop)
WienMobil is the official mobility app of Wiener Linien, Vienna's public transport authority, downloaded over 3 million times. As Senior Android Developer at WienIT / Upstream Mobility, I own the Ticket Shop — the app's core revenue driver — and its Android architecture: I refactored and reimplemented the whole Ticket Shop and spearheaded a full Jetpack Compose migration of the ticketing library. In Q2 2026 the Ticket Shop handled more than 2 million orders, about 36% more than a year earlier. The app combines real-time public transport routing, in-app ticket purchase and validation, bike-sharing (WienMobil Rad), car-sharing (WienMobil Auto), and on-demand electric minibus (WienMobil Hüpfer), all unified in a single multimodal mobility platform.

Bikemap
Bikemap is the world's largest cycling app, connecting 11.7 million cyclists to over 16.8 million routes across 190+ countries. As Senior Android Developer at Bikemap GmbH, I redesigned and implemented more than half of the app's screens, spearheaded the Wear OS companion app, integrated Health Connect, implemented the A/B experiments for premium conversion with Firebase, and maintained the core navigation engine powered by Graphhopper. The app offers turn-by-turn voice navigation, offline maps, route planning with cycling-specific profiles (road bike, mountain bike, e-bike), real-time ride tracking, GPX import/export, and multi-device sync with Garmin and Wahoo hardware.

Smartlink+
Smartlink+ is a professional home security and smart home Android app developed for SecureNet Technologies (Alula), a US-based security platform used by thousands of alarm dealers. The app puts your security system in the palm of your hand — arm and disarm, view live camera feeds, control locks and lights, adjust your thermostat, and review system activity, all from one interface. As one of two Android developers at SecureNet, I built core features including live camera streaming with ExoPlayer, event clips and third-party camera SDK integrations (all with reliable recovery after network loss), multi-property management, customisable sensor alerts and a standalone Wear OS app. One codebase ships as 13 apps — Smartlink+ and 12 white-label brands: Kept, GeoAlarm, NAPCO, Alder, ADT, SafeHome, Think Protection, TMC, Cove, ADT Home, ShieldPro and Top Tier — and I owned the release process for all of them.

SmartPosture
SmartPosture is a posture correction Android app that runs quietly in the background, monitoring how users hold their phone and reminding them to correct their position when they bend their neck too far forward — a habit commonly known as text neck. I started on it at Scopic Software and have worked directly with the client since 2025. The app features customisable alert styles (screen blur, vibration), overlays, usage stats, a 14-day statistics dashboard, parental controls with PIN protection, and a Pro subscription with extended 30-day history, ad-free use, and global posture rankings; I designed and ran the pricing experiments for the subscription. I moved the app to Kotlin and Compose Multiplatform, and the iOS app built from the shared code is now in device testing. Rated 4.5 stars on Google Play with 250+ reviews.

LeverDays
LeverDays is a hobby web app that helps you squeeze the most out of your annual leave by strategically placing vacation days around public holidays and weekends. Select your country and region, enter the number of leave days you have, and the app instantly calculates the optimal placement — turning 25 days into 63 days off at a 2.5× leverage. A second 'Bridges' mode highlights single bridge days wedged between holidays and weekends, making it easy to spot quick long-weekend opportunities. Built with Next.js, TypeScript, and Tailwind CSS, featuring public holiday data for 50+ countries.

Beyond the screen
Continuously learning and staying current with the Android ecosystem — whether it's a new Compose API, a Kotlin language feature, or a shift in architecture patterns. I enjoy going beyond tutorials and testing things in real projects.
Exploring new frameworks and technologies, especially AI and machine learning and how they can make mobile apps smarter and more personal. I'm particularly interested in on-device inference and privacy-respecting ML.
Passionate about learning human languages — I speak Ukrainian, English, German, French, Spanish, and Italian, and I find the structure and nuance of each one fascinating. Languages are my favourite puzzle.
Enjoying strategic board games and puzzle-solving, from modern Eurogames to classic strategy titles. The long-term planning and reading-your-opponents aspects scratch the same itch as good software architecture.
Spending time outdoors — hiking mountain trails and long cycling routes around Vienna and the Alps. A good ride or hike clears the head better than anything else.
Endurance sports — taking part in races and currently preparing for an Ironman. Months of training for a single race day take the same patience and consistency as a long-running software project.
